What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers, also called soft tissue fillers, are an injectable treatment for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Most dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that keeps the skin plump and hydrated for a healthy, youthful look. As we age, the facial skin starts to sag and lose its youthful appearance. Dermal fillers combat these signs of aging to fill in deep facial folds or augment the contours of your face like the cheekbones, jawline, chin, and nose. You can expect natural-looking results that enhance, rather than change, your facial features.

Your Dermal Filler Options

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is one of the most popular dermal fillers in the United States. In the Juvéderm family, there are several different types of products with varying formulas for specific areas of the face. Thinner Juvéderm fillers are intended for delicate facial tissues like the lips while other products have a cohesive formula that builds structure to fill in and define the cheeks and jawline. We offer the complete portfolio of Juvéderm products.

  • Juvéderm Voluma
  • Juvéderm Volux
  • Juvéderm Ultra Plus
  • Juvéderm Ultra XC
  • Juvéderm Vollure
  • Juvéderm Volbella

Restylane

Like Juvéderm, Restylane fillers come in many different formulas with specific products designed for different concerns on different areas of the face.

  • Restylane Lyft
  • Restylane Contour
  • Restylane Defyne
  • Restylane Refyne
  • Restylane Kysse
  • Restylane-L

Revance

In addition to Juvéderm and Restylane, we also offer the full portfolio of Revance products. We work with our patients to come up with the best treatment options for their unique conditions.

  • RHA 4
  • RHA 3
  • RHA 2
  • Redensity

Who is a Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Adults over the age of 21 are candidates for dermal filler procedures. Since hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body, there is minimal risk of an allergic reaction. However, certain products are combined with a numbing agent called lidocaine so please let us know if you have a history of allergic reactions to this product. We will also recommend that you wait to receive injections if you have an active skin infection or acne breakout in the treatment area.

Dermal Fillers Results & Recovery

After dermal filler injections, there is practically no downtime. However, we do recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise and direct sun exposure for the first couple of days since this could worsen post-treatment swelling around the injection site. Different fillers for different lengths but for most products, you can expect your results to last for a year or more!
