What is Dermaplane?
Dermaplane is a skin exfoliating and brightening treatment that uses a surgical scalpel to gently remove dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and surface debris from the skin. The gentle form of exfoliation encourages cell turnover to reveal a new layer of healthier, brighter skin cells. Cell turnover will also soften fine lines on the face and break down the skin barrier to allow skin products to penetrate more deeply and effectively into the skin.
Dermaplaning has quickly gained popularity because it gives the skin a more even tone and allows makeup to be applied flawlessly without it getting trapped in the unwanted hair on your face. This is a non-invasive, painless cosmetic procedure performed by one of our trained aestheticians.

Who is a Candidate for Dermaplane?
Almost anyone who wants to remove unwanted facial hair and smooth the appearance of their skin can enjoy the benefits of dermaplaning treatment. This is a safe exfoliating treatment for all skin types and all patients, even pregnant women and people with sensitive skin who may not be candidates for other exfoliating treatments like a chemical peel. It’s also a safer option for facial hair removal than laser hair removal. However, patients with severe skin sensitivity caused by rosacea or psoriasis will have to consult with Dr. Ballert to determine if they are candidates for this treatment.
