What is Kybella?

Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for submental fat reduction. Kybella injections use a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid to break down fat. When injected under the chin or into other areas of stubborn fat buildup, Kybella destroys fat cells to give you a smoother contour.

The dissolved fat will be safely flushed out from the body through the lymphatic and circulatory systems. Kybella is most commonly used for the treatment of a double chin, but it can also help to decrease jowling.

Who is a Candidate for Kybella?

Almost any healthy adult is a candidate for Kybella treatment! Kybella treatments are less invasive than surgical procedures and require minimal downtime, making this a great choice for anyone who is not a candidate for or does don’t wish to receive surgery.

Please let us know if you are on blood thinners or have had previous bleeding problems since this injectable treatment may result in increased bruising. Additionally, you should wait to receive treatment if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area or are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

Kybella Results & Recovery

After Kybella injections, swelling, bruising, and numbness around the injection site are common but will improve within a few days. We recommend applying an ice pack and avoiding strenuous activity or sun exposure for a few days to weeks to minimize these side effects.

Kybella results will develop gradually as fat cells are flushed from the body. Some patients may need multiple treatment sessions scheduled six to eight weeks apart.
